Mandate
This mandate was a street lighting modernization project in several sectors that could be qualified as "Old Boucherville". This mandate was part of the program to modernize the infrastructures and networks associated with street lighting planned by the City of Boucherville.

This program was established following a mandate to inspect street lighting poles owned by the city that was realized the year before. In this preventive program we carried out the inspection of more than 900 wood poles of the street lighting network.

As part of this mandate, we realized the engineering for the replacement of the existing lighting system on wooden poles by a network including ducts, concrete bases, decorative aluminium poles incorporating LED technology.. The sectors for which we carried out this mandate were the following: De Monts Street, De Varennes Street, Jean Deniau Street, Simon-Saladin Street and Jean-Cadieux Street.

For all of these sectors, we realized the engineering for more than 100 decorative poles and 7 feeder poles and realized the engineering for the dismantling of the overhead lighting system on wooden poles.

The activities that have been carried out are as follows:

  • Detailed field surveys for the design and planning of the dismantling of the existing aerial lighting network and the installation of an underground lighting network.
  • Realization of photometric studies according to the lighting products selected by the client
  • Preliminary and detailed civil infrastructure engineering (conduits, bases, etc.) based on photometric study and field surveys
  • Preliminary and detailed electrical engineering, including wiring, lampposts and control panel, etc.
  • Engineering for the dismantling of the existing network (wood poles, wired network, gallows, etc.)
  • Estimate of costs for civil and electrical works of the new network and for the dismantling of the existing network
  • Management of the bidding process for civil and electrical works, as well as for the dismantling of the existing electricity network and poles
  • Coordination and technical support during the realization of the works
  • Supervision of civil and electrical works, as well as dismantling
  • Realization of As built plans
  • Provisional and final acceptance

Challenges

  • The deadlines for the implementation of the new lighting network and the dismantling of the existing network
  • Work management to minimize impact for residents
