Conception de réseaux
As part of the Quebec government's 2021 "Opération Québec branché" (Operation Connected Quebec), telecommunications company ID LOGIC contracted Infrastructel in 2022 to plan and design a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network deployment in rural and urban areas of the greater Chibougamau region. The project aimed to bridge the digital divide in this remote area by identifying technical solutions that would create a viable economic model for deployment.
This FTTH network deployment program targeted a large territory encompassing the communities of Chibougamau, Lac Doré, Lac Caché, Lac Cummings, and Baie Machin. The project's objective was to provide high-speed internet access to more than 1,235 households by deploying over 140 km of fiber optic network, as well as several points of penetration (POPs).
The biggest challenge in this important mandate was the tight schedule, particularly with regard to surveys, in order to avoid carrying them out during the winter period, as well as the management of permit requests to owners of aerial structures, considering the response times and the completion of preparatory work upstream.
