During the historic floods of spring 2017, the town of Rigaud was the hardest hit, with over 400 residents directly affected.
Faced with this major challenge, the town decided to engage INFRA Planification urbaine and its urban planning team to implement a crisis management tool and provide additional technical personnel. This approach enabled the establishment of a dedicated crisis unit, facilitating integrated, collaborative management among the various stakeholders involved in the recovery process.
The collaborative effort involving the INFRA Planification urbaine team, the crisis unit (urban planning inspectors and managers), the Town of Rigaud’s urban planning department, and organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross, the CSSSMO, and the Salvation Army resulted in integrated, efficient case management and enhanced resilience.
